The Cape Leeuwin lighthouse is the tallest, functional lighthouse located at the most south-westerly point of Western Australia. Cape Leeuwin is also the point where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean. The lighthouse was constructed from local limestone in 1895, and is still a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape.
